what is home? 

It seems to be an easy question but to answer it honestly one needs to dive way deeper in one´s own thoughts, wishes and dreams. This rather simple question automatically reveals new questions and leads to one´s past as well as into one´s future. cocoon shows women from different countries looking and finding their answers to the question of „what is home?“ in Normandy, France.

cocoon is photographed on large format 4x5 inch black and white film in 2021/22.

In addition I interviewed the women I photographed and combined excerpts of these interviews with videos I took of the landscape. The post production is made by Mayka Marchesi.

This project is part of my graduation of Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie in September 2022.
